I just built a new computer and I'm trying to install windows XP. I have it boot from the cd and everythings making me smile until it gets to the part that says "System is Starting Windows." Right when it gets there, it freezes and nothing happens. I can't install it and I'm very sad like a sad puppy. I've tried both 'xp home edition' and 'xp pro x64 edition' and neither of them work. This is before you get to the GUI portion of the installation, it's still in the blue screen part at the very beginning. It just asked me if I wanted to install raid drivers, etc, and then it says "copying ..." and then it gets to the next part and freezes. If you have any ideas, email me at revolution.today@gmail.com . I'll be your best friend if you help me fix this.
But you didn't share a word about your hardware. Typical issues are:
1. You left some USB device plugged in.
2. You have some non-Intel chipset.
3. The power supply is taxed.
4. The RAM is bad.
5. The BIOS is out of date.
In closing the email in the clear will get you spammed.
