Kodak V550 Audio Problem, audio degrades to static.

by Bunky2 - 9/24/05 7:44 PM

Kodak V550. While in video mode, recorded audio sometimes degrades to static replacing the recorded audio completely. Problem is intermittent. Returned it to Kodak about a month ago. They replaced a circuit board and returned camera. Upon retesting, problem still exists, albeit not as frequently as before. Anyone out there had this problem with the V550? Thanks

Several digital cameras have had audio noise induced by the continuous autofocus mechanism while in video mode.

Check your menu options for video mode and see if there is an option to turn-off continuous autofocus.

Kodak V550 static/frying audio during video mode.

Hi Snapshot. Thanks. I have tested the V550 with and without the auto-focus. Makes no difference. In auto-focus, I have moved the camera close and far from objects and no auto-focus audio noise is introduced in the video mode while taking a video.
