This CPU uses the same socket and motherboards as the low end to mid level Athlon 64's, so it gives me the option of an Athlon 64 upgrade without having to replace the motherboard.
I am running photshop and premiere elements, burning CD's and DVD's and the CPU performance seems just fine for this purpose. I guess, because this is the upper end of the Sempron line, this CPU doesn't care to be overclocked.
I'll probably move to an Athlon 64 early next year, once the prices drop a little more. I'm on a budget.
Hi! I have a P4 3.6 Ghz cpu.
AMD man here to the core!
I have been using an intel 3.2 processor for about 2 years. It has performed well.
AMD Athlon XP200+ 1.667 ghz ........
Is this still good enough for most purposes. I mainly
do web surfing, the occasional game, and email......
Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz
I have used AMD since Intel usess their SLIME BALL tactic, of brodcasting the serial the processor being used. I will never trust them again, if I live to be 150.
I have a Pentium 4 HT running at 3 Ghz, with a FBS of 800 Mhz. With this speed, i can make a lot of tasks without problems, except when i'm doing Music... those music softwares really eat CPU resources !! but my cpu supports that and much more ![]()
In my opinion, the intel cpus, are the best of the market for PC's, with the highest velocities... AMD are good for simple and easy tasks, but if you need power and speed, Intel must be your choice.
HP ZV5000z Laptop AMD Athlon 64 3700+ - 2.8 Mhz
Compaq Armada 1700 Laptop - Intrel Pentium 300 Mhz
AMD 2600+ 2088MHZ Clock
It's old and there's plenty of better ones out there but it's never let me down and cannot think of a single reason why i would go to back to Intel
AMD 2200+ : 1.8 Ghz (COMPAQ Presario)
Still running an Intel Pentium III, 733mghz processor, 1 GB Ram, ASUS motherboard, updated to USB 2.0 PCI card, Extr. HD 160 GB hard drive for backups, etc. Home-built (Have built PC's for friends and made repairs/upgrades)
.
I have Intel P - 4 and 2.60 GHz
650MHz Intel Pentium 3
Running in a (now somewhat ancient) MicroExpress Laptop - still working well though.
