Cowon iAudio X5 - I have a few questions about it.

by rjccilee - 7/15/05 1:42 AM

I'm interested in buying the iAudio X5... and the review from cnet is great (which is a plus).. BUT, I did read a review from PC magazine saying the screen itself wasn't very sharp, so when you watched videos it was pixely, and when you viewed photos they'd be a little fuzzy, but the reviewer did add that being able to zoom and scan helped. Is this true from your experience with the X5?

And I was wondering about the battery life; how long does it really last?

Also is the layout of the play buttons inconvenient to use, or is it just fine?

If anyone could put some input on the screen quality, battery life, and button layout, I would really appreciate it! Thanks

How does the new firmware change the programming of the player? Does it support album art?

Thank you

I have 1audio x5 30 gig . It could have been better for what they are cahrging for this mp3 player. It has two audio out puts . One is that everbody uses it for headphone it sounds great and the other one is in subpack that you connect it on the bottom that audio out is horrible you will never use it . You have to spend some time with equilizer to make it sound nice .everything else is good battery life is good not as good as they claim but acceptable. you will probably never use the video thing it is so small that after a month or so you will get tired of it ..and worst is their firmware ....you cannot find songs according to genre or through artist ....it only stores music alphabetically....or you can put em in different folders and then again in folders they are going to be arranged alphabetically. I boought that for my wife but she does not like the way it stores music so now i use that and I bought her a rio.

I just got the x5l a few days ago . It is simple to find files and scroll music files .the button layout is perfect i have no clue what those reviewers are talking about .The display is great , its small but so is the player. The battery life is well beyond 12 hrs (played it all day and still shows more than 1/2 )This is my favorite player (and i own many players). The only negative thing is that it does not work with online music services ....yet
