Moving away from MS products in every part of our office

by 21kev - 8/31/05 8:31 AM

As the Network Administrator here, I am moving our company away from MS Office and towards Open Office version 2.0. To support Open Office, I bought the boxed set from Fry's in Houston at a fraction of the price of MS Office. For email we are moving towards Thunderbird, and Firefox for the browser. Its amazing, if you remove active X support in your browser a lot of your problems go away. To build web pages we use Post Nuke instead of MS Front Page. Why someone would spend several hundred dollars on software, (where you can get something for less money or free and it will do the job just as well) is beyond me. Our web page is hosted on a Linux server, and our email server is Qmail.
