"clear history" doesn't clear ALL history

by skUMD - 8/25/05 6:20 AM

Even when I do "clear history" under internet options, there are still addresses that aren't deleted. When I click on the address bar and backspace all the way, a ton of addresses show up (that don't start in www) and I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of them. Any ideas? Thanks.

That's not history.

That's AUTOCOMPLETE. You can clear that in another place.

Bob

Clear autocomplete where?

by skUMD - 8/25/05 6:49 AM In reply to: That's not history. by R. Proffitt Moderator

Where can this be cleared? I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, but under the advanced tab of internet options I do NOT have "use inline autocomplete" checked.

skUMD, Internet Options/Content tab/Autocomplete button is where you'll find what your looking for.

Go to Internet options, click clear history,

Temporary Internet Files---Delete Cookies, Files

Go to CONTENTs---Click AutoComplete---tick all the boxes & click on the Clear AutoComlete History and Clear Passwords

Under Security---- Set the Security level of both the Internet, Intranet and the Trusted Sites to MEDIUM

Look under the Connections---if there is any connections that were not created by you, delete them.

GOOD LUCK
