I am having this new problem. Every night when I put my computer in stand-by mode and go to sleep , I wake up in the orning and find my computer on. First I thought my " wake on LAN" is on ( it is not). So I disabled my MSN messenger7, and my internet connection and it did not help.
does anybody has a fix?

I have a similar MCE system and had similar problems with the system waking spontaeously from the sleep mode. I thought it must be signals from my broadband connection. A router with its NAT firewall quieted most of the activity since it refuses net traffic no originated from the local system. But there were still occasional spontaeouse wakeups. Check your system for internal scheduled events. Outlook Express is often set to check for mail on frequent intervals. Your TV database is updated from the internet at least once daily. You may have other system utilities set to do scheduled tasks at set intervals. Lastly check for spyware. When spyware reports back to homebase over the internet, it will wake your system.
Sounds like you've got something in there that doesn't belong. Use Ad-aware SE, up-to-date as well as an up-to date virus scanner. You also need a good up-to-date firewall.
I have the same problem. I put it on sleep mode but It wakes up after a while. It should not wake up without touching any key. Is this so hard to make it for microsoft? Can anybody help me?
my mouse is just over-sensitive or doesnt have enough resistance, and thats what does it for me.
