I have a JVC GR-DVM90 and it uses the mini tapes. I was wondering if there is a way to copy those to regular DVD format, and if so can they be viewed easily on home DVD players? Do you have to buy a certain kind? Thanks for any help you can pass along.
Please search the forums (fora?) as you will find there are numerous way to do what you need, from hardware solutions (DVD burner with built in Firewire connection, or software solutions, require that you install a DVD burner in your computer. The software solutions vary in complexity, from one-touch burn to full editing capabilities (edit your video, create DVDs with chapters and menus). Many of these software programs have trial programs that will let you try them but in many cases you can only create short movies until you have paid for the full version.
If your computer currently has a CD-ROM burner, you can try out burning VCDs instead of DVDs. Most DVD players will read VCDs, but be aware that the quality of the video is less than with DVDs. Will be noticeable if you have a larger TV.
