How do I or what do I need to capture analog video from my camcorder to use with windows moviemaker. I currently use an emachines t2260 pc with windows xp home. Is there some way to connect the two things to load the video into my pc. Any help would be much appreciated
Why do you need "analog" video - old camera?
Your alternatives are:
Digital camcorder (MiniDv) get a Firewire/IEE1394 capture card.
If you really have an analog camera you can either get an analog conversion card - numerous on the market, be sure to get one that gets 720x480 at 25/30 fps (most sub $100 will not give you that quality) - or get the analog to DV conversion card (I think by ADS). You can probably continue to use this card if you upgrade to a digital camcorder at a later date.
I assume that you have no digital output(firewire).
Then you need a analog capture device either a PCI or USB device will do $30~80 for a card, $50~100 for usb. If your camera has a S-video then use that.
Keep in mind that analog video is 320x240.
