Looking for nice and handy software to convert classical audio cds to same quality MP3 cds in original correct sequence (i.e., multi-volume and movements in symphonies or quartets). Could any classical music fan help me? It seems the most of the tech helps and/or softwares (Real and Media player) heavily weighted on Non-Classical Music Only.
A CD is a CD is a CD; the software doesn't care what genre it is. I don't see how something can be any better for pop music than for classical music. Do you mind explaining?
Variable bitrates may be applied so that more parts of songA song just the same under lower bitrates. SongB which mostly requires higher BR will be larger in size
the equilliser is diffent
you shouldn't convert any music to mp3..period. You just want to have more songs on a disc, there are program where you can put many audio cd into a dvd disc.
I don't like to listened to certain symphny's 1st movement first, then certain quartet's 2nd movement next on burnt cd.
As you know I can put a few music (symphony. quartet. and song cycle, etc.) Just looking to see any handy software. There may be a slight, a slight loss in fidelity.
" I don't like to listened to certain symphny's 1st movement first, then certain quartet's 2nd movement next on burnt cd."
That has nothing to do with limitations of MP3 itself, and everything with how you have chosen to name the MP3 files.
So long as the MP3 files are alphabetically/numerically ordered the way you want them to played, your player should respect that order.
That's what they tend to do: play files in alphanumerical order.
Thanks. Everybody.
I guess I was also looking for a handy software it could do the re-naming on-a-fly to do the conversion of 400+ classical CDs.
I use a program called "the Godfather". It works with pretty much all audio files. With a pretty straight forward interface it'll llet you rename individual audio files, rename a group of files, or reorganize all the audio files in a folder. There is also an option to find album information via a couple of different online sites. You have several options to choose from, including genre, title, artist, track number, style etc. And not only can you change the titles in one fell swoop, you can also edit the tags of files as well.
Where is "The Godfather" available?
I don't know of any software that will automatically rename any titles for you. Not sure if there are even such animals in existence.
What I do know, is that I rip my CD's using Microsoft Windows Media Player. It allows me to set the bitrate. I then use Roxio's CD Creator to burn the CD's. But first I have to go into my music file and rename the song files in order to get the correct plying order. I only have to add an 01,02,03,04,05 etc. in front of the song title.
And while you're at it, you may want to put each group of music into it's own folder. Then name that folder 01whatever, 02whatever etc. Then when you go to actually burn them, they will be in order too.
It takes time and a bit of energy, but when you're done, you should be quite satisfied with your work.
Good luck.
Windows Media Player uses WMA by default, not MP3. And even when you do set it up to use MP3, it's not using a good MP3 encoder.
iTunes all the way - it is so simple and user friendly!!!
correct me if I am wrong. My understanding is that itune is nothing more than just a software for purchasing songs on the internet and the songs are in AAC format. Right or am I all wet?
