I just acquired an old Sony Handycam... I think the model is CCD-TR67 (from around 1998).
However, it came without a user's manual, so I don't know how to charge the battery. Online searches have come up blank.
I wish it was like modern Sony equipment, where you just press Stop to begin charging
Can anybody tell me the secret? ^_^
Not just your model, but there are many universal type chargers at Best Buy and other stores.
Fair warning, that battery is likely to be dead after a few years.

Thanks for the advice on buying a separate charger. I may do that.
Yes, it has occurred to me before I even start fooling around that the battery may be dead.
The freaky thing is that this camera seems to have been used very little if at all by the previous owners.
It still had the batteries for the remote control packaged, wrapped in plastic... still had tags on it and everything.
The battery may well be past its shelf life, but I doubt it's actually been used.
It depends,if the ac adapter only plugs in to the camera and you can have the battery on the camera at the same time, then you charge the battery when the camera is off.
John
You can also get stand alone charger from MCM Electronics. For $55.
But I belive you charge it on the camera. John
FYI. I have a CCD-TR67 - good camera though I've lost some parts (remote, etc.) There's also a battery case that holds six AA batteries you can use instead of the lithium batteries.
