Hp service sucks

by penncountrygirl - 7/27/05 1:13 PM In reply to: Yes it does by Swelem

I have 3 HP computers, and three HP printers. I WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER HP PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE!!!!

It is now July 2005 – my problems began in April 2005 – so we are taking about a period of 4 months!!!

Problem 1: Computer will not turn on (it is less than 2 months old). They say owe well we’ll send you a box pack it up and ship it to us. So I did. They send it back, claiming that they tested it, and I get a computer back that is missing the memory card (therefore, it will not boot at all). So I call and of course they can’t just send me my memory chip they have to have me send the computer back to them again. So I do. And they send it back (supposedly testing it first) and I again get a non-working computer. So I send it back again, and they send it back again, and you guessed it, it still doesn’t work. So then I get to talk to the Sr. Quality Manager, HP Executive Customer Relations Management who guarantees me that I will get a working computer. So again I send it and finally they send me a working computer. But now they had the computer as long as I did. So I continue to use the products as I have already paid for them and one of the other computers dies….it has a CPU fan that failed and will not boot up because of it.

So I call…and again I am told that they can’t send me the part (even though I told them I could easily install a CPU fan myself). So I wait for the box, send the computer back….AND GET THE WRONG COMPUTER BACK!!!!! Then when I call I am told they have no idea where my computer is but they will have someone call me back. When they never called back I called them. They then claim my computer was at their service center the entire time (BULL) and that they haven’t fixed it yet (BULL) and that I need to send the computer I got back before they can send mine to me. Then the “Service Manager” tells me he can’t guarantee my computer is coming back to me…WHAT THE F***!!!! He refused to give me anything in writing stating I will even get any computer at all back!!!! Since I am doing the right thing and sending the wrong computer back I guess I can only hope and pray that I get something in return…BUT NO GUARENTEE… AS THE ‘SERVICE MANAGER’ told me THERE IS NO GUARENTEES IN LIFE!!!

HP Service Truly Sucks!

by HockeyTown4Ever - 8/23/05 10:05 AM In reply to: Hp service sucks by penncountrygirl

I'll never buy another HP computer either. I bought a Pavilion Notebook last November and the first time I called Tech Support all I got was the run around from some guy in India!
My notebook isn't charging properly. The first thing HP wanted me to do was to diagnose the problem myself. When I told them that I wasn't qualified to do that, they suggested I take it to my local authorized HP repair center (40 miles away). When I took it there (CompUSA, which was where I bought it), they wouldn't even look at it for less than $139, even though it was/is under warranty. Great support!
On a whim, I took it to a local BestBuy and they did take a look and told me that the problem was with my internal charging mechanism being loose. I was standing in line with 4 other guys and THREE of them had a problem with their HP charging mechanisms!
Now that I had obtained my own diagnosis (no thanks to HP), I called HP back. Being familiar with Dell's practices in laptop repair, I assumed HP would be similar - no such luck. HP wants me to ship it back to them so that they can fix it. They say it will take about a week. When I asked them what I would do for a laptop during that week, they didn't know.
I buy a new laptop every other year. I've always had Dell or Toshiba, this was my first HP and I'm not impressed with their service. They dumped the problem in my lap instead of dealing with it in a customer friendly way.
Dude, I'm getting a Dell.....

HP Pavillions and HP customer service are crap My opinion

by Happy Dell User - 3/5/08 11:09 AM In reply to: Hp service sucks by penncountrygirl

I chose a ZD7000 because is had everything I wanted. Just over a year later it shut off for no reason. Called HP and argued for the better part of an hour. Kept hearing it's not under warranty. BS. They finally admitted that it was flawed and sent me a box. Sent it to them and got it back. Once again, less than one year later the CD/DVD writer went out. Then a little while later, the graphics started to go out. Lines running up and down on the right side. Called HP, once again out of warranty. Told them that this was a design problem, once again "out of warranty". Told them that I would give them the opportunity to fix this before I joined the Class Action Lawsuit due to bad graphics overheating and MB problems. They continued their out of warranty stance. So, I joined the lawsuit. At this point, my model number is the number 1 model number in the lawsuit and it was approved. I have to wait till April '08 for final court approval. Anyway, I now have a $2000 paperweight that says HP. Needless to say, even if HP fixes this, I've already went to Dell and couldn't be happier. I will never purchase anything again that is even faintly associated with HP from printers to computers. I just won't take the chance and give my hard earned money to a company that won't stand behind their products, nor will I ever have anything good to say about HP.

HP wasn't the only one with deadly Pentium 4 laptops.

I've see many over the years from all makers.

Why did you choose a non-laptop CPU that would burn out the machine?

It was a Pavillion ZD7000 laptop with wide screen. I chose it because it had everything I wanted. Hindsight is always 20 20.

HPs are terrible indeed......

by HPsucks - 7/29/08 5:43 PM In reply to: HP Pavillions and HP customer service are crap My opinion by Happy Dell User

So I got my Pavilion dv2415nr about 10 months ago, very nice featues, amd turion, vista home premium, webcam, blah blah....and the computer is completely fried by now, with just regular school use....
One of the first things I noticed is the extreme heat it generates. After two hours, it feels as hot as my car's engine! My brother has a 3 year old Vaio laptop....somehow vaio had fit a Pentium 4 in there....and it heats almost nothing and works faster...

Then the bios issue that made boots impossible. I pressed the on button.....could wait for an hour....and nothing comes up on screen. So, ship it back to HP, wait weeks for service...it comes back, works for a week, and then the same issue. I shipped once again and it returned once again. Of course...it didn't work right. I eventualy got tired of yelling at the hp guys by phone...then I notice that the wireless adapter does not work either, I didn't think it could get worse.

Now, it has all these issues, HP won't help, the battery now lasts 10 minutes....(even on my brother's vaio, it lasts 40 min, being that old).

What to do? rent a Hummer so that I can run this PC over and destroy it....my money's been wasted already since HP help is useless. HP should be banned from the market!! PCs THAT bad shouln't be allowed to exist in this world.

Sounds like a warranty issue.

"I pressed the on button.....could wait for an hour....and nothing comes up on screen"

KEEP SENDING IT BACK. The worst thing to do is to let them not fix it and post all over how bad it is.

Dell XPS Gen 2 over zd8000

by demipso - 7/29/05 3:29 PM In reply to: (NT) Dude You're Getting A DELL! LOL. by damasta55r

I have got the zd8000 last week i have nothing against HP but what people said on the forums is true. It does heat up gets hot under the hand rest is a bit bad. Just got my Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop today and wow you see the difference. If you look on the dell site instead of buying over phone i got the 40% off buying it online. Got with this
Penitum M 2.0
windows xp home
512mb ddr2 ram (I bought seperate 2gb ram for $190)
Nivida 256mb 6800 ultra card
17inch true widescreen 1920 resolution
blue tooth wireless
Gigabit card
after the 40% got it for $1800 and add the $190 for the ram i upgraded on my own
$1990
Very happy with it runs awesome no noise no heat problem. Keep looking on the site to catch these deals. Dell 9300 would be cheaper then the xps also depending on budget but xps comes with the better graphics card. Good luck~

by Frisky_ca - 8/3/05 7:15 AM In reply to: Dell XPS Gen 2 over zd8000 by demipso

I'm just wondering whether you bought it in CND or USD? Coz my budget can only afford $2000CND. Thanx!

XPS Gen 2 is a good deal - I agree

by FDC1961 - 9/15/05 1:23 PM In reply to: Dell XPS Gen 2 over zd8000 by demipso

DELL has bad customer service, but it is much much better than service of other companies. I needed a powerful desktop replacement mostly for my work (no gaming). Coding or reading requires a good screen, so I had doubts between HP and DELL. My occasional experience with HP was so-so, while my over-the-years buying from DELL was mostly good. I got XPS Gen2 2GHz, 2G RAM and 100G hard drive and DVD+/-RW, 256MB NVIDIA etc for total, with shipping etc $3,467, of which $500 will be subtracted as rebate, and the price can be paid off for long without interest. You can easily figure a less powerful configuration much cheaper. Screen is good, can work on it. Any noise (like from a typical desktop) would disturb me, and a hot laptop may lead sooner to broken components. Hope this gives a bit of helping info.
