I am one of those that has my "email this member" option turned on. I've received only a handful of emails through this means -- mostly supportive on contentious issues, but also continued input on locked threads. I know that should anyone decide to spoil this by bombarding my account I could turn off the option at any time, so that's why I turned it on.
However, I think there is a bit of an etiquette problem here. I don't think it is appropriate to contact someone by this means and not give that person the opportunity to reply. IOW, if you don't want to turn on your "email this member" button, and/or supply a throw-away addy so the person can reply (with even a simple *thanks*), consider how frustrating this is for the recipient.

And I think very rude also:( If you don't want to give the same option, then at least don't use the feature to contact others:(
my email address that is listed with CNET does not exist any longer. I have tried to enter my current email address (as far back as a year ago), but it just doesn't take. I have also emailed the Mod's asking for help, but to no avail there either.
It may be a good thing because sometimes Elvis sends me some very large files and I need to make sure I always have space for pic's of him and his band.
I suppose the best thing for me to do is to turn that option off.
I'll do it now in fact.
my password. I forgot my password. lol
When I log into Cnet, my password automatically appears, so I haven't a clue what it is. I guess I wrote it down when we switched from Znet to C, but I can't be sure about that either.
If I try and change my password Cnet only recognizes my old email address. I'm between a rock and a hard place with this one unless I re-register using a new nic, so fa-getit.
I registered not long ago, so I know what password I entered. However, when I tried to log in this time, CNET did not remember the entered passord. So I asked for a temporary one, got it and used it. Now I cannot find a way to change it to what I want.
below ''welcome, Username'' and to the right of ''logout,'' just to the left of the ''Speakeasy Forum'' name near the top of the screen.
Hope this helps, Mo and PM!

I am sure PM will be able solve his though.
Cnet will not recognize any email address for me but my old one. If I try and enter my current email address it tells me invalid email address. Consequently, I am stuck with out a password and no valid email address for C to forward a new password to.
For my own sake, let me explain another way–
1-I forgot my password.
2-Cnet has my old email address on file and not my current ISP.
3-In edit, I click on "forgot password" or "change password" and I am then asked to enter a valid email address. Cnet does not recognize my current email address. I can't use my old email address anymore.
4-In edit, I click on "change email address" and it asks me for my password. I have no way of retrieving a password from Cnet with my previous ISP/email client.
Sorry for being redundant, but expressing the situation twice with different wording helped me keep it straight.
I'm back at square one. ![]()
Thanks
I'd miss seeing ''mojo'' around.
as I expect it will be followed by something pleasant and/or appropriate,
As to your log-in problem, I do not recall seeing your asking for help, but there is a lot I don't recall.
If what DaveK posted below doesn't work....
I suggest you post your problem in Forum Feedback, where Lee will see it. Keep in mind that he has a lot on his plate, so it may take time for him to reply.
Somewhere swirling in my brain was a deadline for some log-in changes. I know that several people in SE did change their user names, but I don't know about the addresses or passwords.
Good luck !

in Feedback possibly. If you will read my reply to DK, maybe it will make more sense.
I thank ya mam for the kind words, too. ![]()
It should get a wider cross-section of users there, and would probably draw Lee's attention.

SE member DK. But he hasn't had the courtesy to reply:(
... and etiquette, not so much at any CNet policy.

I thought you wanted this capability added to an e-mail sent via C-Net, regardess of the sender's profile setting.
