Hi, I have read the reviews and user comments on Google Earth and it looks awesome! However, I downloaded it and cannot get the account acitivation login to work despite trying for several straight days many times. On their website, they site the error code I am getting as being common and them having a hard time handling the traffic of new users. I want it!
It is driving me crazy though to keep seeing Google Earth day after day being a highlighted CNet article, when day after day I cannot get the program to allow me in. Very disappointing and frustrating. Thanks for listening!
The error message pointed me to an article on the GoogleEarth web site that suggested it was my firewall. It wasn't as I use ZoneAlarm and ZA asked me directly if I wanted to allow GE access to the internet which I clicked Yes.
I tried again a day later and got through. So it is more likely their servers, unless you are also using a firewall and it is blocking access.

PS, I've just tried it, (UK, GMT 20:27 +1) and it's working ok.
I use ZoneAlarm Pro as well and have it setup to allow it. I just turned it off and was able to log in finally, for the first time. Weird, now I'm not sure if it is a Google issue or a ZoneAlarm issue....
ZA can cause problems that are difficult to track down. I gave ZA permission for my voip app. but constantly had problems I removed ZA and downloaded the free Sygate personal firewall and no longer had any problems. Maybe you should think to do similar. Cheers, Ray
Do the same again, turn off ZA, open up and log onto Google Earth, then start ZA again.
It might recognise that you are using GE and should pop up with a question asking if you want to allow this.

I recently subscribed to Google Earth, paid for it, received a code verifying the subscription and payment and now I cannot access Google Earth. I have not had a response from GE since. Has anyone else had this problem. Can someone tell me what is happening. Am I a victim of a scam?
Please help.
