I have a TiVo unit with a built in DVD burner, and it has no trouble burning 6 hours of fairly good (VHS) quality video to DVD-Rs and DVD-RW's. Yet, I have not been able to do the same with my HP Windows Media Center PC running Windows XP Media Center 2005. All I have found is programs that will take a LONG time to compress video to 4 hours but that is the max I can put on a DVD.
Are there any programs that anyone knows of that will take video recorded at the lowest quality setting on a Windows XP Media Center Edition PC and put 6 hours of it on DVD? Thanks.
Lou
I have Ulead's DVD MovieFactory 4 and it supports dual-layer DVD media (and recording to such.) See http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp.htm
And yes, the transcoding step will take hours. I did see near 6 hours on single sided DVD, but can't remember the exact settings.
