I accidentally downloaded the Linux search engine, because I thought it was the Lycos search engine. So does anybody know how I could remove it?

This website should tell you how to remove plugins from firefox
One Question the search engine a extension that you downloaded from mozilla? If that is the case, you can go to tools, options, extensions. Find the extension you downloaded and uninstall it from there. Hope that helps..
After installing plugins from Mycroft (http://mycroft.mozdev.org/) you might want to get rid of those you don't use.
1. Go to the installation directory of the application (Firefox or Mozilla Suite) and locate the subfolder "searchplugins".
2. Delete both SRC and GIF/PNG files for each search plugin. For example, if you want to get rid of the default Google search plugin, you will delete "google.src" and "google.png".
3. Restart the application and deleted plugins will disappear.
4. If you uninstalled a search plugin because it was broken, please go to the Mycroft Homepage (http://mycroft.mozdev.org/) and "judge" this plugin. Thank you!
I have not set up Firefox yet on my Mac at home. What is wrong with Google as a search engine with Firefox? Personnaly, I like the GOOGLE search engine. I use it daily, as well do all my coworkers, at a newspaper company doing graphic design and advertising.
