Dual lan cards

by S.R.K. - 6/26/05 11:03 PM

I'm trying to put 2 lan cards into 1 computer so that I can get a second computer on the internet using DSL, with internet connection sharing, the card that's already in it is a linksys LNE 100 TX (v5)Fast Ethernet adapter. The card I'm trying to install is a D-Link DFE 530TX. I keep getting an IRQ conflict with the motherboard, can I change the setting? and if so How do I go about doing it???

If you are using Win XP or Win 2000:

Go to CONTROL PANEL and then open SYSTEM. From there select the HARDWARE tab. Then select DEVICE MANAGER. From there you will be able to see your NICs. Select the NIC you want to configure and right-click it. Once the properties window has opened, go to the RESOURCES tab. You will see the IRQ setting there.

get a router and eliminate the "custom" stuff? Modem -> router, router -> each PC.
