ipod and receiver

by TKEMBLE - 6/16/05 7:29 PM

Recently bought a monster icable for ipod to hook up with receiver. Can't get it to work with this cable. The cable works fine with the TV but really want it to go through the receiver. Any thoughts?

If the cable works through the TV, it should theoretically work through the receiver. Make sure the cable's plugged in properly and securely (red to red and white to white) in the same component input. For example, my Creative Zen Xtra is plugged into the CD component of my Yamaha receiver. Since it's plugged into the headphone jack instead of a line-out port, the volume of the iPod in your case needs to be turned up. I recommend turning it up 1/2 to 3/4 of the way, and then adjusting with the receiver volume after that. In my case, I just turn on my MP3 player, hit shuffle, turn on my receiver, press the "CD" button, make sure the volume's up and mute's off, and it works like a charm. Hope this kind of helps.
