AV Comparatives has an interesting web site:

Their Anti-Virus Comparative February 2005 chart is interesting.
Plenty to read here William ![]()
This used to be the best__Gladiator;but the designer took a job with another antivirus designer under condition that he cease and desist Gladiator distribution.Although AVG7 is extremely good and free the paid version is better and at par with 'NOD'and Panda and Kaspersky all three of which more than hold their own against Norton and McAffee and 'The Cleaner'I have tried them all;if you keep AVG6-or-7 updated at least every second day and try others as a backup scan 9while AVG is temporarily disabled),you will be well protected.Download the latest AdAware which also recognizes Trojans and worms. For added help go to 'VelociWare for their 'Perfect Process' program. For those who have a little money to spare try'Shadow User':whatever you do on the computer during a session you can choose what to keep and everything else such as downloads ,bad settings, hacks, viruses, trojans, worms, adware, spyware,BHO's and anything else you're not 100% sure of keeping disappears with a reboot;including registry entries or changes.
My free Avg starts when I turn on the computer, but it isn't docked in the task bar in the lower right. It runs a scan every day at 8am if my computer is on at that time. I don't know if I have real time protection or not. If not, how would I set it up?
is to scan files in real time. So, assuming you have a fully colored logo in your system tray that means all functions for AVG are turned on. If you have any function turned off the icon turs grey.
If it is grey, open control center and enable any function that is currently disabled. Do that by clicking on that function and clicking "enable" radio button.
Might want to try the new AVG Beta with a firewall included. Free for now.
I am running AVAST and AVG at the same time on my computers, including Zone Alarm, without virus and problem for almost 3 years...
My personal opinion would be Avast or AVG, but there are lots of options out there... a good site with some reviews and such is http://www.free-antivirus.ca
The 'best' is whichever one successfully removes ANY infection, AND is light on system resources, too. SuperAntiSpyware is the only one that meets both of these criteria:
http://www.superantispyware.com?rid=3625
.
Antivirus programs find different things that Antispyware programs do. Although there is some detection overlap in the various programs, you'll need them both.. Although SuperAntispyware is a good tool, it also doesn't find many of the traditional virus types.. In fact, if you visit the SuperAntispyware site, you'll not find "viruses" listed in their "Detect And Remove" section.. Specifically, it doesn't remove "ANY infection" as you've indicated.. I use it in my business to cleanup badly infected computers.. A good tool, YES, but it does sometimes miss things which are found by other tools.
In fact, Avast, AVG, and Avira are some of the best detectors of traditional virus/worms/trojans in many tests.. Just an example is the test series in the link below. After accessing the page, click on the "Comparatives" tab in the upper left, then check the test results.:

Another note, it appears like you're SPAMMING these boards.. All of your posts are about SuperAntispyware.. A quick check of their main page shows they are an "antispyware" program NOT and "antivirus" program.
Hope this helps.
