I use the Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. The range is only about 10 feet, but the battery life on this thing is unbelievable! I have been using the original 2 AA batteries for over 13 months in this mouse, and it is still working! I don't use a pad; it works flawlessly right on the desktop.
I use a Logitech MX 518 and my sweet Jacksonville University pad
I use a Philip Starck optical mouse and no mouse pad,
It's not cordless, but it is optical.
I use the same mouse on my Mac and PC at home as well as my PC at work.
Logitech trackball. Started with one, never used a mouse. I found it much essier to use. No worry about space on the desk or pad. When I use my wife's or son's mouse, I find it harder to place the curser or pointer where I want it.Can't understand why so many people prefer a mouse.
I use a NYKO Air-Flo USB mouse which has a built in fan to keep you hand from sweating while playing games. It also has a rubber pad on top with vent holes and sure grip rubber grips on the sides for control and comfort. There are vents on the sides as well. It works great for any application and is much more comfortable than a regular mouse.
For a pad, I just use a cloth mat with rubber on the bottom. It works great for me.
hi with the gyration mouse you just hold in your hand, and if you get tired of that you can put it down anywhere you like no mouse pad needed. Haboo52
Best mouse ever!
Great infrared mouse - cost about £30 around 3-4 years ago. Bought another last year for other PC - then down to £15. Has 2 extra buttons at side (useful for games and web. I really like it - no mousemat nec on some surfaces.

I use a Microsoft wireless optical mouse and wireless keyboard.
I use several mice, such as a Logitech "Connect" cordless, which is very responsive, however, it eats batteeries, so I use rechargeables.
I also use a Microsoft "ball-less" mouse, which is also very responsive and comfortable, however, one of my favorites is an old Honeywell strain gauge sensor mouse that works on just about any surface, and, of course, has no moving parts.
As for pads, I tend to like the dark, solid color pads, which seem to have better reflectivity. I do not like pads that slide around on my desktop, however.
I would NOT use a Bluetooth mouse for security reasons.

I had been using Microsoft's Ball Point mouse for the past 15 years or so (I loved it) until it finally fell apart. It's not made any longer so I went with Logitech's Trackman Wheel. No pad required. It's not as good as the Ball Point but it's 100% better than a desktop move around mouse. I'm still getting used to the Trackman; I have trouble with inadvertantly pressing the right button.
I've always hated mice. I use a Cordless Logitech TrackMan Wheel. Even my kids perfer this over mice.
i use ms optical scroll mouse on a plain old rubber type pad
MS Trackball Optical-no pad. Had for 5 years, and would not consider anything else.
