Acer AL1914 (AL1914SMD) 19" LCD Monitor?

by abcd3fg - 3/20/05 6:14 PM

This looks like a really great monitor: 19", DVI/VGA, speakers, 500:1 contrast, and even 12ms response time. It is also super cheap at about $350. Is this too good to be true? I have scoured the net looking for a good review, but have found none. Any one have any suggestions or first-hand experiences they would like to share? Thanks!

I'd get that one again... Only one thing. The "black" isn't as black as the CRTs, but it is a very nice display.

Does it rotate 90 degrees (pivot - for landscape/portrait view)?

I purchased an ACER AL1914

I got it from Newegg and it is actually down to $320! Smoking deal, if you don't mind the risk of a bad pixel. ACER's policy is that they do not have to fix or replace a monitor with a bad pixel (or even up to 8 bad pixels). However, thanks to persistence and a fantatic customer service person (Tammy), I am 100% pleased with my monitor (even though I sent in the orginal, got a second with a bad pixel, and finally replaced it with ACER for a 3rd). This one is flawless and is bright and colors are great. I play Farcry with no blur effect. Movies are not perfect... but acceptable. I would give this monitor 5 out of 5 stars, ACER's customer service department as a whole and their policy 3 out of 5 stars, and Tammy 5 out of 5 stars. She saved my experience and thanks to her I would trust ACER again in the future.

Acer AL1914 Montor

by bigwoman740 - 10/24/07 3:02 PM In reply to: I purchased an ACER AL1914 by orion10301

Hi all,

I purchased this 19" flat screen motor last year, in Mico Center. And I must tell you that the price was excellent... I had to wait for 2 mail in rebates to come in..but all in all it came in at $170.00 after the rebates were processed! It works great with my pc and I get to watch TV on it too... The picture is outstanding!! I am very happy with this product.. the only complate I have is.. for some odd reason, I can not get the picture to come on now on the tv, when I open the screen in Media Center... I think it's the program not the montor. Also, there is a very slight hairline mark at the bottom of the screen... dosn't barther me much..
