I never had a virus or anything, I just liked it blank. However, learning about the potential effects, I now use google.com, as it is the fastest loading site I've encountered.

There is a spyware program that changes your homepage to about blank (and installs a bunch of other garbage ads) and no matter what you change it too, it keeps returning to the about blank page. You can follow these simple steps to remove it:

It searches for and removes any variant of the Cool Web Search Worm which i was infected with. CoolWebSearch variants can also have many other side effects being on your computer.
