Good news and bad news... I spoke to a very knowledgeable Verizon rep today and he said that they just got trained on the i730 last week!

He also told me that based on past releases, the phones are usually available via phone sales about 3-4 weeks after they are trained on a model. Then they will become available via the internet and Verizon stores a few weeks after that. That would put the earliest availability at late April or early May for phone orders, and mid May arrival in stores!

However, he prefaced this by saying that they have already projected a shortage based on the supply that Samsung is providing and the demand for the phone already. His personal estimate is that the initial supply from Samsung will be entirely sold by phone orders, which may then delay the arrival in stores and on the internet until Samsung can provide the subsequent shipments.

So his estimation is that you will either need to be one of the first phone orders placed later this month, or you will be waiting until late May or June to get a chance at picking one up.
