Ok, so I've narrowed down my selection for a new ultraportable laptop, and it's between the Sony Vaio T250 and the Fujitsu Lifebook P7010D. I've compared the specs on both, and they are pretty similar. The lifebook is cheaper, but I don't know of anyone that actually owns one. Unfortunately, I've talked to several people that know a lot about computers, but none of them have heard of the Fujitsu. That scares me a little.
Any suggestions on how to decide between the two of them?!? Thanks
Hi, I've heard of Fujitsu before. Their notebooks are pretty nice and seem good. They have good warrenties, but it seems that the performance of their notebooks are limited.
I've been using a Fujitsu S6110 for about two years. I have occasion to use their repair service twice (note to self:quit dropping the ^@W# laptop). I found their tech service to be excellent; the best I have ever experienced with a computer company. The techs were knowledgeable and thorough. They are available 24/7 worldwide. Definitely a gem of a computer company.
A couple of days ago (not sure of the date) Walter Mossberg who is a regular contributor of computer articles to WSJ, evaluated both the Sony Vaio T250 and the Fujitsu LifeBook P7010. He rated both very highly. Maybe you can do a search of the WSJ. The article was titled, "Two Ultralight Laptops Offer Lots of Features, Improved Portability".
He can be contacted at mossberg@wsj.com
The level 1 techs are located in Canada. Level 2 and 3 are right in the repair facility, ready to actually look at Your notebook, the repair work is not contracted out to a third party!
I do hope that you emailed the persons that repaired your notebook, it makes a difference in our work lives to hear back from satisfied customers, we so often hear only from the discontented....
