Coming into work today, I was wondering whether any cell phone on the market would support the equivalent of video phoning - live streaming video both incoming and outgoing. So that two people could have the equivalent of a _useful_ video phone conversation.
Anyone know?
I don't know exactly which handsets or what provider, but I thought I heard that type of service may be available this summer. No idea when exactly.
You just need a pair of 3G phones (and network coverage!). Video calls between my Sony Ericsson V800 and my partner's Nokia 6630 work adequately, but they ain't pretty. It's sorta like watching streaming video over a 56k modem connection in my experience. I don't find myself using video calls very often and I doubt if I ever will, but that's a matter of taste.
What cell phone network service do you have for your Sony Ericsson V800? I didn't think you could use all of the features that phone is capable of here in the USA.
