Don't believe all you hear...

Incredimail does not track your emails. I have used it for awhile and have had only one problem. Every once in awhile I get an empty/blank email in my JUNK & UNAPPROVED folder. I just delete it and carry on. I agree with the positive comments. It is a good programme. Buy it and get rid of the advertisements.

Incredimail Rules!!

by Chaddy01 - 3/11/05 12:56 PM In reply to: Incredimail by Gypsy13

I have used Incredimail for 5 years now and have had no problems at all with the program, in fact, its one of the few programs I have actually purchased!!
I wonder if your friend is talking about the Read Receipt function, which by the way is available in Outlook also. THERE IS NO EMAIL TRACKING WITH INCREDIMAIL. I also agree with some other members comments about this cool program, if the baggers of this program paid for it they would find all the good stuff their missing and maybe not bag it so much.
Stick with the program and fear no more, Incredimail Rules.

Incredimail

by beyondallken - 3/11/05 11:25 PM In reply to: Incredimail Rules!! by Chaddy01

I can fully support those who enthuse over Incredimail. I have used it just about from its inception, and although I have had a look at several others since then, nothing but nothing suits my needs better.
It is so feature rich and user friendly that I never hesitate to steer people to it, novice or experts alike, and I have no doubts whatsoever that it does not track or plant anything nasty or uninvited.

INCREDIMAIL ..Non-Help

by MyLloyd - 3/22/05 10:05 AM In reply to: Incredimail by beyondallken

I too tried Incredimail PAID for 3+ years but never heard back from them despite some problems ( i.e. losing my reg info twice ). despite repeated e.mails and search for help my last episode will be my last as they again DID NOT IN ANY WAY RESPOND to my reinstall issues . So I don't really care about all their gorgeous extras if they will not help a twice paying customer .
I have not till now bought into the "tracking debate" until I discovered how enmeshed this program was in my registry . I needed independent professional help just to lose this ingrate huckster . So goodbye Incredimail .

No help here either

by Mom24 - 3/26/05 4:08 PM In reply to: INCREDIMAIL ..Non-Help by MyLloyd

I'm a paid user and tried to install the Outlook add on for use. Unfortuanately my incredimail tool bar just blinks at me and my other tool bars won't work at all. I have been trying for 3 months to get assistance from "VIP Support". Yeah right! They asked me for information 2 months ago, and I supplied it, and now am up to 6 requests for a response or update on my problem. Have yet to hear anything. I definately will NOT be renewing my subscription!

Increditmail tracking

by joyva - 3/11/05 7:40 PM In reply to: Incredimail by Gypsy13

Quite frankly, if one gathers news from alternative in lieu of mainstream news sources, it will soon become apparent to them that we are probably being tracked regardless of where we go on the internet or which programs we use.

I do find Mozilla Firefox to be more secure than Explorer, Netscape, AOL, etc. and I like that but I also use Incredimail. Because I believe we are tracked to a great extent on the 'net, I go ahead and use Incredimail and enjoy it. You can't beat city hall, as they say.

Incidentally, AOL often rejects certain news related emails I send to a friend whose ISP is AOL (mine is not) based on the subject line and I get the "Mail Daemon" message saying it couldn't be delivered. If I change the subject line, I can usually get them through. So, there's just one example of that tracking which of course amounts to censorship.

Could it not be a case of AOL trying to limit spam and misinterpreting your emails.
Lets not be hasty in the big brother conspiracy theories without thought about ISP's attempts to limit Spam and Viretic emails.

Incredimail

by offthejob - 3/12/05 2:31 AM In reply to: Incredimail by Gypsy13

I have used Incredimail since it was released years ago and I recommend it to everyone. This program is by far the best for sorting, blocking and bouncing unwanted E-mail. This process takes some time but when all is done you will only get the mail you wish to read. There is one thing Incredimail will do if you are using pirated copy it will send you a Email indicating you are running a none registered version and to either register it or stop using it.

Incredimail ROCKS!

Incredimail is 'incredible'

by reinked - 3/13/05 6:11 AM In reply to: Incredimail by Gypsy13

I have used Incredimail since it's inception (free version) and have loved it. I recommend it to all my friends, family. Never have had a problem from Windows 98 to Windows XP and I've used it on all the various Windows operating systems inbetween. I only wish they had a Mac version. Now, you can even download your AOL mail. Incredible!!! Use it, enjoy it and have fun with it. There is absolutely NO tracking going on inside Incredimail. A word of thought, never write down what you may not want other eyes to read or see. If you do, remember you sent it, not Incredimail.

Who cares?

by Spockva - 3/14/05 5:54 PM In reply to: Incredimail by Gypsy13

Since you have that cellphone which is GPS capable, and you have a TiVO which tracks what you watch and your laptop with wireless networking is tracked to know where you are logging on, etc. why worry about it? If someone (Big Brother) wants to know who you are e-mailing, chatting with, calling on the phone, or where you are at this exact instant in time, I am sure he has devised a way to do it.

So don't worry about it and use what you want when you want and be happy and make believe you are blissfully unaware!!

Incredimail is the Bomb!!

by Starbase22104 - 3/14/05 10:34 PM In reply to: Incredimail by Gypsy13

I have been using Incredimail since it's inception. I have noticed a few buggs here and there. But for the most part it is a stable, safe, and fun email app.
after hearing all the virus and bug concerns about Outlook I never have and never will use it. As for the concern that Incredimail is tracking your emails. I have not once had any spyware app ( and I run two) alert me to incredimail. And as with any good product out there on the market there is always going to be atleast one Paranoid person that thinks he is so important that the F.B.I. is trying to get him. The free version does have adds and that may be what your friend is mistaking as tracking. But I bought the license and have never had any problems. Incredimail is the most user friendly, customizable, email app out there I wouldn't use anything else. So I guess the bottom line is if you want to use something easily hacked like Outlook go with it but if you want an email app loaded with extras Including Spam control go with Incredimal

IncrediMail

by srgolfer - 3/19/05 8:28 AM In reply to: Incredimail is the Bomb!! by Starbase22104

First let me say I don’t have a beef with the paid version of IncrediMail, as I have not tried it. To cheap you say, no that is not the reason. I tried the free version for two weeks and it made such a mess of my system it took quite awhile to undo the problems. I have had to fix the system of three other persons for the same reason. Why take a chance on buying something that caused so many problems. If this company has such a great product why not put out a free version that makes you want to buy it. They should put out a trial version that is a limited application and expires in a short time, 2 week, 3 weeks or 30 days, whatever. Free of ads except their own advertising the product. If the trial version runs without problems people would be more willing to pay for the full version. When I test drive an automobile and it dies at stop signs, is sluggish running and is not reliable I am sure not going to buy it hoping it will work better after I own it. Now again, I am not putting the program or people that are happy with it down, I just think they should put out a better free or trial version.

There is more than incredimail that tracks but,I did use it and stopped for that reason but if you are a MSN or outlook user you have to pay to use incredimail
so that was an other reason for leaving them.Yohan129

incredimail

by RickPeg - 4/8/05 3:00 AM In reply to: Incredimail by Gypsy13

We haven't had any errors in our incredimail, besides all the email loading into inbox, but that's only because of the connection here being so bad. I have never heard of anything like that happening, and we have had incredimail for awhile, have had very minimal problems, if any. Nothing to worry about at least. We love using incredimail, and will continue to use it. It's a great program in our eyes!! Hope you decide to keep it. You should.

Incredimail Tracks

I have used Incredimail for years and love it, but I also subscribe to 'CloudEight Information Avenue' http://thundercloud.net/infoave/
and this is what they have to say about it:

Question from Mary
Thanks for the great newsletter and all the great tips.....I have learned a lot from just reading your newsletter....I have a friend that insists on using Incredimail regardless of what I have told her about it. My questions is....does her sending me email using Incredimail affect my computer in any way? Thank You, Mary

Answer
Thanks, Mary! The free version of Incredimail creates email messages which contain what's known as a Web bug. In the case of Incredimail, a small animated GIF is used (a blinking envelope). The sender cannot see this Web bug when composing the message but the recipient can when he/she receives it. While this little graphic appears benign it may be used for tracking purposes and can collect information about the sender and possibly the recipient. It is capable of sending personal and aggregate information back to an Incredimail server. What is done with this information remains arcane; the issue is that it is collected at all. You would have to wade through Incredimail's eleven page, 94 paragraph EULA . We're betting they are counting on very few people reading it. There are no good or legitimate reasons for any email program to be inserting tracking devices in personal email. None at all.

When we reply to an email sent to us from and Incredimail user, we generally copy the content of the email and paste it in a new notepad file. We then re-copy the text in the notepad file we created and paste it back to a new email and answer it that way. We have no desire to have any of our business or personal correspondence tracked by Incredimail or anyone else.

To get rid of this tracking device Incredimail users must purchase the program. But, think about this...if the only purpose of the web bug is to monitor the stationery used, so they can tell which is most popular (as Incredimail states) how are they able to tell if they don't use the bug in the paid users email? Something to think about. Also, purchasing the program does not relieve the purchaser from agreeing to the terms of Incredimail's convoluted EULA (license agreement). And now we've learned that Incredimail has begun charging you for a lot of its stationery once you have purchased the program. Incredible!
