Any MP3 Player Allowing Uploading of FM Recordings?
by markey - 3/17/05 3:53 PMI thought the Iriver 795 was a good as I could get in features and performance. As my jogging partner, I want a flash unit with good and powerful sound. Direct FM recording capabilities seems like it may (??) be an added bonus, but I read in a review that because of security concerns, you cannot upload these files. Are there other players on par with the iriver players where you can upload such files?

Although I understand you can update software (from Iriver) so that you can drag & drop from explorer. So maybe you can do uploads?

Just drag and drop the recorded .rec file from mp3 player window to your computer window in the Music Manager. Once the file transfers, a wizard will automatically come up to convert the .rec file. Here's a bit of correction: it converts .rec to uncompressed wave files, not mp3. You'd have to encode it in mp3 with another sound editor. I recommend Audacity, which is free: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
I use Music Manager version 3.08, and iFP-180T firmware version 3.22. Not sure if they changed anything in iFP-790.
