Looking for recommendations on headphones

by nycgal - 3/17/05 12:52 PM

I have a Creative Zen Micro which I love - awesome little player! The only problem is the included headphones - the sound is great but they don't fit comfortably in my ears, plus they constantly fall out at the gym or even just walking fast on the street! Does anyone have any recommendations for headphones that a) sound good, (b) are comfy, and c) will STAY IN!

I'm not looking for mega-expensive headphones - is there anything that could be within $50? Thanks much!

Are there any good headphones out there of the earbud kind? Same price range - around $50?

Found these to be the best

Panasonic also makes one like these, but you need to get the ones with bigger drivers, like these sonys. I've found them easiest at Radio Shack. I use them at the gym. Most stable, and when I run, I wrap a headband over them.

Sony's website says they're the same price ($49). It looks like it will satisfy the original poster's requirements better because of the ear clips. But that's the LP model. The SL model is the one with the short cord and extension cable, but it isn't listed on Sony's US site. Audiocubes and Smart Imports have those for not much more ($57 and $55, respectively).

Or you can get the Audio Technica ATH-EC7's...

Headphone Suggestion

I've found the Sony h.ear earclip headphones are the most comfortable headphones that I've ever used. They clip behind the ears and stay firmly in place (at times I've hit the cord and the player went flying while the headphones stayed in place). I've been able to wear them for hours without discomfort.

Sound wise, they offer fairly good bass and treble, with a frequency response of 18 to 22,000 hz. They are an open air type, allowing you to hear what is going on around you.

Cost wise, a pair will set you back about $10. They are also available in several colors, including black, blue, pink, orange, and white (the white ones have a different type of earclip and I paid $20 for a pair). I like them so much I've bought three pair, one for each of my portables (radio, CD/MP3 player, and iPod).

I hope that helps.
