I recently bought the Canon ZR 65MC and I would like to be able to burn some home movies onto DVDs. I have a DVD burner unit. I was wondering what the best way to do this is. I'm not too familiar with Mini DV format and this is my first camcorder.
Thanks,
Kate
That could be expensive and not the answer you wanted. So I'll share a solution I use.
1. Get the video onto the PC with the supplied software. Almost any format will do.
2. Use the DVD creation software that came with your DVD writer. Mine came with DVD Moviefactory. I would just drag and drop the video into Moviefactory and then use it to make the DVD.

There are many possible solutions to this question. I use Adobe Premiere 6.5 which came bundled with my matrox RT.X10 video capture card for editing and then MyDVD for a DVD mastering program which is a very basic but functional program that also came bundled with the capture card. I would suggest you vist the web site www.videoguys.com which is very informative to many of the different options.
I see the confusion. Mini DV is what format it is "in the camera." When you use your DVD creation software, along the way of transport from the camera to the DVD, software will put the video into a suitable format for playing on DVD players.
