Torn between Samsung HL-P5685W and Sony KDF-60WF655

by joe stark - 2/27/05 7:27 AM

I have been looking to by a TV for about 5 months and I have really been interested in the samsung. Then I was looking at the Sony and now I am torn between the two can anyone help me ease this pain that I am having. Could anyone give any insight on which one would I be happier with. As far as run time for these TV's it will be normal run time. Basiclly it will be used for Movies and standard watching during the week. Have purchased a Yamaha receiver to control my audio.

Well, whatever you do, whatever store you go to, tell them to throw in a DVD. I know that Best Buy shows a Hi-Def satellite signal through their monitors, so you are seeing the best possible signal. The Best Buy I usually go to couldn't do this but Circuit City could and it made a heck of a difference in my opinion of Sony's KDF-55WF655.

I would look into Samsung or Mitsubishi.

Definitely stay away from the Samsung HLP models!

Samsung has had a LOT of problems with their TVs causing audio/video sync problems and screen black outs. We install them and we have had to get about 6 out of 7 DLP Tvs and 3 out of 5 plasma and LCD Tvs switched out or had the boards replaced because of these problems. I would look at a Hitachi or Toshiba. Hope this helps.

Sorry, also check out the Mitsubishi models as well. They have really stepped up lately with there quality level and performance. I just have gotten a really bad taste in my mouth from Samsung and Sony.
