Acer AL1916

by Debra Kohlrust - 3/28/07 3:52 PM In reply to: Dell 17"LCD by Brett109

I'm very pleased with my Acer AL 1916 19" monitor.

I have over 3,000 negatives of Great Lakes vessels, loading and unloading ports, lighthouses, etc. which I am gradually turning into 13" x 19" prints. The Acer's color is a dead match for my HP-9800 printer's output and that saves me a LOT of work.

I've had no problems of any kind in the 7 months I've been using it, so I recommend it highly!

You wouldn't happen to have a photo of the "SS South America" would you, I understand it has been scrapped and it used to load at Detroit, MI.

My Dell 19 Inch CRT Monitor

by iainkayphd - 3/28/07 5:14 PM In reply to: Dell 17"LCD by Brett109

I don't own a television & exclusively watch DVDs on my Dell computer with a 256 MB PCI ATI Raedeon graphics card and 1 GB of RAM. This seems to work for me. I wouldn't own a TV if it & the cable service were FREE!

Anyone out there want to comment Pro or Con about my setup? Please e-mail me at iainkayphd@bellsouth.net

I have a 21" viewsonic lcd. Love it. I do a lot of Desktop Publishing work and its great.
Also, just mounted it on an LCD arm. Another great innovation.

What size monitor do you have for your main computer?

I hade a 21 inch monitor, but I went to the 19 inch flat screen. I don't really miss the difference in size, and certainly don't miss the bulk and the weight. I have a usb hub in the flat screen, ad that is very handy.

Ultra Portable Laptop

I'm sure you missed out reading that the 12.1 inch monitor is on a laptop. It is called Ultra Portable Laptop, some people needed that especially if they travel a lot and rarely use their laptop at home. These kind of laptops are the most expensive laptops.

Old but good; driven by one Nvidia Quadro FX 3400; serves me well for SolidWorks 3D Cad work and desktop publishing.
