I decided to try a live auction. The company? Paramount-Auctions. They offered really great deals on expensive jewelry. Troubles began from the start. I had to deal with this company, and another, Hot Jewelry Auctions, at the same time, and neither knew what the other was doing. No invoice was sent to tell me shipping costs, but I received a demand for payment TWO days after the end of the auction. After THREE e-mails, I finally received an invoice. TWO more e-mails trying to find how to pay for resizing. I never found out. Charged $15 shipping. Shipped first class, not insured, in a plain 5x7 manilla envelope with the $500 ring rolled in tissue paper and shipped in a zipped baggie. Some shipping peanuts tossed in. I left neutral. They left vindictive negative feedback, then had the nerve to hurry and file a "mutual feedback withdraw" with Ebay. I haven't decided if I'll accept yet or not. But I'm telling everyone I can about what a lousy company they are.
Ive checked on the company feedback. Seems like YOURE the only one with the problem here!
Also seems like their shipping and everything for you to know is made available WAY ahead of time. Ask yourself why YOU cant follow policy - Dumb ****.
I completely agree with the first person's post. I had quite a bit of trouble with this company. They give suggested retail prices that are $1000's of dollars higher than the actual cost. The ring I received stated it was valued at $3000. I paid them around $200 and found out it was worth maybe $25. It was not even real gold! the gemstones were definitely not real. no where close!
The company refunded my money, but I did not get shipping charges back, which were also very high, and I also did not get an "auction fee" back. They were nice, but the product was completely fake. I was scared to leave negative feedback on ebay, because I don't want to ruin my perfect rating.
My advice- if it seems too good to be true, it probably is! I should have known better!
I lost my 100% feedback by letting the truth out about these guys but hope it saves someone their money - maybe you!!!
Below is my letter to EBAY as of Jan 26th about these guys:
This seller should be suspended from EBAY - On Dec 27 - we purchased 4 different rings totaling $1206.10. The products had a buyers premium of 15% per item ($152) plus $40 shipping. We received the items on Jan 2nd - the products were an extreme disappointment - looked nothing like the pictures - had huge inclusions in the stones and the side stones were brown instead of white diamonds. Contacted them for refund they said we lose the buyers premium and shipping and would be charged a 10% restocking fee. They ended up agreeing to not charge the 10% restocking fee and I got back $1014.00
The issue I have that if the products were even close to the pictures - I wouldn't think it was such a scam... but the reality is that the four rings were worse in quality than a costume jewelery ring that my wife recently bought.
My mother used to run one of the best jewelry stores in Kansas City - so I know quality jewelry - and this is the worst jewelry I have ever seen.
I guess my lesson is to NEVER buy jewelry off of EBAY. Your name is being deminished by having sellers like this on your site. When I gave them feedback that was the truth - they hit me with negative feedback... Then they called this afternoon and asked me "what would it take for me to remove the feedback" - this is how you know its a complete scam.
I have posted my next negative feedback for ring number 2 and have two more gems to leave for them. I fully expect that my 100% feedback rating will be hit by them again. What a shame you let these guys scam real EBAY customers.
Do what you can to stop others from being suckered by thieves like them... want some more real feedback - go to GOOGLE and type in Paramount-Auctions - and you will see even more stories of customers being ripped off by these guys.
Let me know what you can do - hope someone at EBAY is willing to do the ethical thing and give up the fees you all are earning from customer being ripped off by these guys and kick these guys off EBAY.
Hi, I am looking for any complaints against E-bay live auction site Paramount Acution house.
please e-mail me your story : classactionebay@yahoo.com
I had a very bad experience with Paramount auction. TheirCertificate of Authenticity is not reliable, their provided ACA Allstates Certificate Advantage) is Joke! the quality and description is incorrect as they advertised. I asked them to provide information about ACA so I can confirm with them regarding quality. No website is found about ACA and Paramount did not reply. Their customer service is Joke!I investigated further more and they run under 2 more different names-Hotjewelry.com & Jewelry overstock.com. There are plenty of stories that people got ripped off by them. I understand lots of people are hesitant to leave Negative feedback because Paramount will leave negative feedback with rude comments (you can check their feedback page).
We can stop them together.... I am collecting scam stories. If you think you have one, please send your story to: classactionebay@yahoo.com
Even you are not victim of Paramount, but unfairly treated by any E-Bay Live Auctions, please send your story!
I also recommend to file complaints to BBB (Better Business Bureaus)
www.bbb.org
Make sure you have Paramount address when you file.
I can provide the address to complete the form.
please provide a link to the site (legal firm) which has brought the case against paramount and overstock/ebay
You helped me - thanks! I was looking online for an auction house to auction off many items I have that are too valuable to auction off using my ebay account. With the high amount of fraud and the ever expanding inventory on ebay, getting what an item of value is worth is a crapshoot at best anymore. I miss the old ebay!
Unfortunately, it sounds like some auction houses are equally as unethical as many new ebay members. Paramount and HotJewelry definitely will NOT be getting my heirlooms to auction.
btw: edwards90068 is most likely a shill for Paramount. It's beyond imaginable for any reasonable person to think that a legitimate auction house would send anything of value wrapped in toilet tissue via regular mail.
I had a similar NEGATIVE experience with jewelry-overstock-auctions (aka Hillstreet Jewelers). The jewelry quality was so poor. The stones were ridiculously cloudy and the gold was so light that the bracelet felt like it could be plastic. BEWARE- Look at the weight of the gold in these descriptions! Even though the description says it is 14kt gold, the weight (most people probably aren't aware of the average weight of a normal qualtiy bracelet) is so light that the bracelet feels like plastic. I was charged the auction fee, shipping & handling & insurance, and a restocking fee for the return. The vendor also took its time crediting my card for the return. Upon receipt of my credit, I left my negative feedback on EBAY. Within ten minutes I received a phone call from the vendor's customer service offering to pay me $25 to withdraw my negative feedback. They also threatened me with negative feedback if I didn't agree to withdraw the feedback. I was so enraged by this threat that I decided that I would rather leave the feedback and warn potential customers rather than allow this vendor to continue claiming a positive rating. Additionally, the customer service rep wanted to know why I waited so long to post my negative feedback and I indicated that I wanted to avoid any delays in crediting my account. I think it is ironic that they felt it was an exceptionally long time to wait since it was based on the time it took to credit my account. I've certainly learned my lesson and hope that others reading this will avoid making the same mistake without having to incur the financial loss.
I thought I heard it all until I read your post. You should report this seller to eBay as per their offer to give you $25.00 to remove negative feedback. There are rules about feedback extortion and I've never heard of such a thing as per paying to remove negative feedback. This skews the Feedback results and is a deceptive practice.
why would some body like you disagree with all the feed back on this junk company are you the owner
I was all ready to make some purchases from "PARAMOUNT AUCTIONS" when I went to Google and saw the horrid e-mails people left for the company...which in turn reflects on ...'E-BAY'!!!! I've always trusted "e-bay" never any problems. But now I am wondering...How such a Scam could live somehere we all trust!?
People are "AFRAID & INTIMIDATED" to leave "negitive feedback"!!!! If it wern't for people not wanting to ruin their "SCORE," they work so hard for...THESE PEOPLE WOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!
When I read the responses from "PARMOUNT AUCTIONS" when faced with bad feedback....THE MANTALITY, is at best...DISGUSTING!!!
I REALLY hope SOMEONE at "E-BAY" cares enough about our reputation & YOURS. Put an end to THIS KIND OF "SCAM"...
BUY IT...IT'S A LIE...SEND IT BACK...& IN RETURN - RUIN YOUR E-BAY SCORE, AND WITH ALL THE "FEE'S" (SHIPPING/HANDLING/RE-STOCKING/AUCTION/ETC....) THEY STILL MAKE A PROFIT!!! NOT ONLY HAVE YOU JUST PAID MORE THEN WHAT IT'S WORTH, YOU'VE RUINED YOUR SCORE - "If you wern't SCARED OFF BY THEIR INTIMIDATION TACTICS!"
I was under the impression this kind of behavior was NOT acceptable on "E-BAY",,,,guess we shall see!
Thank you,
Kelly

I was amazed to find these threads! ...but now I feel better about my experience, so bless you all!!
A 3rd alias? all I know is the place that ruined my 100% feedback was "Paramount-auctions-jewelry"
See ebay feedback for "robertpix"
I see there is a class action lawsuit we can join. They're is a need for some kind of permanent removal from ebay of people like this.
I filed an ebay request to remove my feed back on the grounds of: "Member who won an item solely to leave negative feedback" ...but this guy calls people names in his feedback??? So when you think about it, his feedback makes him look like a sick psycopath rather than an adult business(person)...so the feedback really isn't as bad as it could be; if he acted like an adult and stuck to the issues rather than invent some "personality traits" it could have been more damaging. As an example, he said "I have a brain of a grapefruit"...well that IS about the size of the human brain. So that's really not slander... anyway, here's my story of woe to add to the pile...it helps to share (snif)
While my item was for sale Paramount-auctions-jewelry sent this email:
"Would you take 50.00 PLUS shipping immediate payment to end auction?"
My reply:
"Hi, Thanks for your interest! It's very tempting, but I just put it up
for auction. Let's give it 24 hours and see how many more folks will
bookmark it.
Regards,
Robert"
Paramount-auctions-jewelry then bid on my item at the very last moment and won
it. And then they didn't communicate or pay. I sent two invoices, I tried to
communicate. My listing's payment instructions were: "Contact from the winning bidder must
be made within 24 hours via email if payment is from any other method other than
paypal. Payment must be received within 5 business days of the close of this auction."
I went through a week, 7 full days, without hearing from them. I tried to
communicate with pleasant emails, I sent an email thinking possibly they were
new to ebay and offered to help them through the payment process. After 7 days
of no contact from them, I felt they had violated my payment policy enough and I
filed a non-payment dispute. They did say at one point that "they would pay for the
item" in response to ebay's dispute form that they sent to them. But no "check" ever
came. After 7 more days ebay issued me an FVF, I closed the dispute and relisted my item.
Ebay also urged me to leave the proper feedback.
Because this person SAID they would pay apparently they didn't lose feedback privileges on the item. But, alas, I left this feedback which you can see on their record: "a last second bidder who violated my listing terms, DID NOT PAY or communicate"
Then my friendly buyer SUDDENLY began to communicate!!! He left:
"ebays ultimate dirtbag. sent payment,NEVER received item. Brain of a grapefruit.
My reply: RETALIATORY he didn't pay or communicate, I fi!led a dispute, ebay issued
FVF.
Whereas they replied: check # 112, retalitory? GET REAL.Buyers, learn from MY mistake*Im out $ AND item.
This is slander and very sueable, there is no way this guy sent a check and it's impossible for him to fabricate that he sent one, especially a personal check or anything with #112 on it. He would be busted for perjury if he said that in court.
In conclusion, I feel my feedback should be removed by ebay because this person wanted me to take $50 to end the auction, when I declined, they then won my item with the sole purpose of not paying or communicating and then giving me bad feedback on my 100% clean record.
But by saying "he'd pay" I guess that is some sort of communication, so I got scammed by Paramount-auctions-jewelry and I'm sure I'll be stuck with the feedback! Isn't ebay fun when you come across someone like this?
Robert
Hi everyone. I was seriously thinking of participating in one of these "Auctions", but was a bit wary as it seemed too good to be true. And I was really worried about the bit in their terms and conditions that said that if you left negative feedback about them, they'd do the same to you but worse. I read a load of the negative feedback comments and was appalled by the repies the auction house put back whaen it was clear that they were in the wrong themselves.
Like a dick, I was still tempted, but thought I'd Google "Allstates Certificate Advantage" and you'd be amazed at what I found! Loads of threads on different sites, all of it negative, but no website for them themselves.
Keep away!
I was looking on EBAY live auctions and found another live website by the Ebay user name: jewelry-overstock-auctions they have a 99.1% positive rating however the use the same "ACA" rating for gems. In all my years of buying jewelry I have never seen this rating on any single reputable jewelery website. Nor have I ever seen or heard anyone mention that particular rating in any store I have ever been in. Thank you so much for the information! All of you confirmed my suspicion when I did a search through Google and the only link for this type of certification was their particular website. What a joke! I feel so bad for people who were suckered in. Thank you, Thank you Thank you! Use common sense and do homework and if it seems too good to be true it probably is. FYI I watched their auction for 4 hours straight while researching it before deciding it was a joke after about the first 5 minutes. The only thing that kept me hanging in there was EBAY's reputation and feedback. They should be ashamed for not protecting their customers better!
