I have a rebel xsi and I noticed when taking dark lit photos I can see a red pixel and a blue pixel that shows up in all my photos. It's really not that big of a deal(easily edited)... but is still pretty dumb. Any one else have this problem?
Even my Canon 1Ds mark III 21MP has 1 dead pixel, tested by a software, nearly invisible by my eyes. It's been 8 months since I owned the camera; I can live with that. It's very difficult to tell any way. My previous camera Canon 5D had 5-6 dead pixel. Despite A2-A3 print-outs, I don't see any significant for those dead pixel. Don't get too frustrated. Keep on shooting.
Oh, great. Now you got me paranoid that I have dead pixels.
If your XSi is under warrenty, and I assume so since it is a newly released model, bring it back for replacement. No dead pixels are acceptable or should be expected. If your dealer will not do an exchange then phone Canon and they will so an exchange via courrier. I've done that with my G6 and XT in the past.
Also, I hope you puchased an extended warrenty for all your camera equipment. I've had repairs and exchanges done up to five years after purchase, all under warrenty, not a penny out of my pocket. I'm a photographer by profession and the extended warrenties have saved me thousands over the years.
