Need to convert MPEG-2 file to a format that imovie can read

by ColStruckin - 9/21/09 1:44 PM

I got this video strait from a sony video camera and i know that sony and mac do not go well together at all. the movie type is a MPEG movie, the size is 71.2 MB, codec: MPEG-2 Video, AC3, dimensions: 720x480, Audio channels: 2, total bit rate: 9,356. I can not pull it up in imovie, quicktime or convert it in handbrake, What do i do? Is there some converter software that i need to get or what???

Don't you need Flip4Mac or one of the better softwares like imovie, FCP or such to handle mpeg2?

See if there's a tool that can convert MPEG to DV. I best FFMPEG or some other freeware could do it. Not tried this exact task before.

Good luck.
