All I wanna DO is burn slide show to cd for tv viewing....

by mandyrchtr - 12/8/05 3:25 AM

I have win98SE, dialup, IE 6, and a CD Burner.

First of all what I want to do is I have a slide show made - twice - 1 in Powerpoint 2000 + 1 in Irfan View.

Powerpoint I gave up on as I just could not work out how to burn to cd WITH audio playing in the background.

I have 57 photos with 3 songs playing in the background.I wanted to do this for my inlaws for xmas as I know they are getting a DVD player for xmas.
I though if I can burn to CD I can play the CD on the DVD player for viewing on the TV!!!Losing hope here...

After 3 days of messing around with it I then downloaded and used Irfan View and easily made the slide show and perfected it to the exact way I wanted and then clicked 'burn to cd' - and find that it tells me I need Nero full + Nero plugin to burn with!

Last night and today I downloaded Nero Demo 7 and after 8hrs finally began to install - AND then find I need a serial key number to fully install! To have this you need to buy...although it doesn't tell you this when you choose to download!!

Does ANYONE have any idea how I can do this with freeware software....

I truly like the Irfan View...is there a way to get around the Nero??
Or is there a free nero program??

I am almost ready to give it up as a joke...

I really wanted to do this for Xmas....

Sorry - getting totally frustrated here..
Thanks for any advice ...if it's bad I will need the kleenex though :(

Freeware for burning VCD

The make a slideshow on a CD and be able to see it on a DVD player, it has to be in the form of a VCD (Video CD).

I don't know of any freeware for doing that.

There are a number of slideshow programs that can write as VCD, DVD, and other formats.

They tend to cost over $50.

...............

The most popular slideshow program is ProShow Gold by Photodex. You can download a free trial version and give it a try.

Thanks to some serious juggling (and early Xmas present begging)...I now have a program - Nero , which looks alright - God knows what 1/2 the stuff is...just trying to figure it all out.

I am almost there though...with 11 days til Xmas....there goes the housework! ;)
