I have downloaded clip art from the Microsoft website many times in the past with no trouble but I got a new computer a few months ago with Vista (yuck!) on it and now when I download the clip art I can't open them even though I have Photoshop and Paintshop Pro plus other Graphics and file conversion programs.
When I put the cursor over them on M/S website it says they are either jpg, png, gif, or other common extensions but after they download they are in either .mpf or .cil formats that none of my programs will open.
Does anyone know of a way I can open them and convert them to a common format? I even tried the Zamzar file conversion website but they don't recognize those extensions either.

Microsoft's clip art filetype

The ClipArt is in a format that is understandable with Microsoft, which is what Microsoft provides the Clipart for. If you don't have Office, or one of the many programs that Microsoft uses Clipart with, it does not surprise me.

Also, Microsoft's applications, which utilize Clipart has a built-in tool that will automatically download and uncompress the clipart selected, and place them in the appropriate Microsoft clipart locations.
