What's your opinion on Internet Explorer 8?

by mopscare42 - 3/20/09 11:25 AM

I see where IE8 has been released and I was thinking about downloading it.
Has anyone else used it and if so what is your opinion?
Thanks
Wayne

IE 8 ???

by diablowizard - 3/20/09 6:18 PM In reply to: What's your opinion on Internet Explorer 8? by mopscare42

I too would like to know if anyone has downloaded
IE 8 and if so, any concerns or pros and cons it might have. I'm thinking seriously of doing this download this weekend unless I hear of any problems cropping up.

Running good for me.
The best one so far.

IE 8 will not EDIT picture in Photobucket

by Bob20Midview - 9/21/09 2:21 PM In reply to: IE8 by cargut

I'm running Windows VISTA Home Premium, 32bit, 2GB RAM and 163GB free.
I presently use IE 7 and haven't had any problems with it not editing
my photos in Photobucket.

I have downloaded IE 8 two different times but each time it will not let
me edit my photos in Photobucket. Page starts to open but stops at top.

Could someone help me with this problem in IE 8 as I use Photobucket
many times. Thanks, Bob

Have you read all of this thread?

by Cadillac84 - 9/21/09 5:20 PM In reply to: IE 8 will not EDIT picture in Photobucket by Bob20Midview

You should do that if you haven't. You should especially pay attention to removing all toolbars before installing IE-8 -- if necessary, revert to IE-7, then remove tool bars, then reinstall IE-8. Then manage your add-ons and plug-ins as suggested in the thread.

Then make sure Java, Flash, etc. are up to date.

Then try again.

I think you'll find IE-8 works. Be sure to remove and reinstall because you'll be certain to have the latest and greatest when you do that.

If that doesn't work, I'll hope a photobucket expert comes along and helps you.

Explorer 8 is Not ready for download

by nissanman55 - 3/20/09 9:39 PM In reply to: IE 8 ??? by diablowizard

Don't download it. I have had nothing but problems with constant crashes. Will not let you open certain sites. I just uninstalled it and back to normal and everything opens as it should with no crashes. It is not ready for use - don't waste your time.

CRAPPY IE8

by Randy Walter - 3/31/09 10:17 PM In reply to: PLEASE HELP by lisaf43

I got rid of IE8. If I remember correctly I went to:

control panel -> programs and features -> installed updates

Then click-on the IE8 entry. This will give you the uninstall option. If you choose this it will back up windows to IE7 and you should be back where you want to be. Good Luck!

Internet Explorer 8 - uninstall

by bowls999 - 7/21/09 1:55 PM In reply to: CRAPPY IE8 by Randy Walter

Hi - I saw your reply on Internet Explorer 8 - if I uninstall IE8 does it automatically revert to IE7?

I'm not very technically minded - but I've had nothing but problems since I updated to IE8 Aand would like to go back to IE7

IE8

by Randy Walter - 7/24/09 11:39 AM In reply to: Internet Explorer 8 - uninstall by bowls999

Hey, bowls999. The answer to your question is: yes. Before I uninstalled IE8 I contacted Microsoft and they told me how to do it. They also told me the uninstall would automatically revert to IE7 and it happened that way when I did it. You should be OK if you do like I did.

IE8

Internet Explorer has stopped working---my all too frequent response to using IE8 for the past 2 weeks. So I changed my default to Chrome.
