Free Winzip alternative?

Winzip is fine, but I don't want to have to pay to get the latest version. Thanks.

For Linux, File Roller and Arc work well but prefer File Roller

The UnArchiver was acting very oddly over some files so I used my back iArchiver. Since then iArchiver has become my default. I also recently downloaded MacPardeLux as my new back up but haven' used it yet.
