Hello,
Has anyone come across spyware that runs malicious code using a Firefox Browser? I have some seem some drive by downloads but nothing that bypasses Firefox security. Has anybody else seen anything?
Thanks..
SpywareBlaster by http://www.javacoolsoftware.com has protection from bad cookies for Mozilla/Firefox. No bad activeX detections since Firefox does not use ActiveX. (ActiveX is used by some spyware if user is using IE to install spyware).
However an Experts predict Firefox spyware will show up this year http://internet.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=05/01/31/2121249&tid=144&tid=78 ![]()
Thanks Donna for the link, I work for the anti-spyware company mentioned. I'm just asking around on forums to see if anybody has been infected yet. Have a good day.
Site(s) try to install malicious XPI. See http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=64341
I guess Xpis are basically a zip with an executable in it. I have found some spyware that installs it self with the drive by download method (Mozilla based browser), but after the spware installs it only effects Internet Explorer and not Mozilla or Firefox. I have yet to come across anything that adds something to any Mozilla Browser. I'm sure there will be here real soon.
