Antivirus'09 is a new rogue security product. This rogue uses fake/scare scanner pages to trick users into downloading the rogue application.
Antivirus'09 uses the same old Fake Security Center which was also used by WinDefender 2008

What this programs does:
Antivirus'09, otherwise known as Antivirus 09 or Antivirus 2009, is a rogue anti-spyware program that was discovered by security researcher Bharath, This program uses aggressive advertising and false scan results in order to scare you into thinking you are infected. At this time Antivirus'09 is advertised through the use of pop-ups that appear when browsing the web. These pop-ups will state that your computer has a security issue and that you should run an online anti-malware scanner. You will then be brought to a page that displays an advertisement that impersonates an online anti-malware scanner, and when it has finished scanning will state you have a myriad of infections and that you should download and install Antivirus'09 in order to protect yourself. Though this program is not currently advertised or installed through Trojans, we expect that in the near future Antivirus'09 will start to be promoted via malware.

not to long ago you may have even wrote to me when another here was helping because of having a virus. my avg was not working right. I was looking for a free one to take avg place because I had no component in the avg they all disappeared. I had paid over $70.00 for it. all I had to protect the computer was a superantispyware witch help to keep my computer some. what did I do I downloaded what was suppose to be a virus scanner for 49.99. the one main person that was helping me from here when he herd what I was using for a virus scanner told me the mistake I had made. I unstalled it and was able to download the one I an using now. I was trying to get off the net as soon as I could, but I need to keep coming back on to finish loading the avast virus scanner, witch took me a while because I only had netzero dialup.
not only was my computer sick but netzero was making it worse. I was finely able to get the good virus scanner on my computer, and use it in time to clean up my computer. I was able to get ATT and tell netzero all the reasons I was leaving. the one that did the most in helping me sent me the URL that you have here. I also did a Google search and found one page after another of how antivirus pro had messed up there computers. if it was not for all the help I have got from here my new computer would be dead. I am not sure if the one that gave me all that trouble is one and the same as the one you are talking about or not. IS IT?
now I have a good virus protector. and a good ISP. every thing is good now but(SMILE) I am have a bit of trouble with quick play and another player. I thing I have to ask that in the utility's forum. even with that trouble I am a lot more close to have the computer running just like it is suppose to.

so be very careful !
Do you have Malwarebytes Anti Malware MBAM) on your computer? It is a FREE anti malware program and it will find rogue (fake) programs.
I also would suggest installing SpywareBlaster, IF you don't have it yet. You can download SpywareBlaster (free) from here:

I do have the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.34 and the superantispyware. I keep then in two different spot on the computer so I do not want to use them in the wrong way it was explain to be about when it was right to use one or the other. I think what I have is enough or are you saying to unstall the superantispyware and install the spywareblaster?, or am I to keep what I got and download the spywareblaster as well? some times these things can get confusing and I am never quite sure what is best to do.
I have to be be very careful now about not getting mixed up cause I am trying to post a question in the pc utilities about to different player's one is quick play and I cannot spell but it starts with the word windows and the second word is starts with the letter M. when I write the question there I well have to fine and copy paste the name (smile) as well as asking a question on the avast site about the virus scanner. the PC utilities keep tell me the page is lost when I try to proof read or summit and the question I am trying to aks in the avast site is not letting me register. I fill out the forum click register and nothing happen.
I am not very school book smart. some times I am not sure of the information I need to send so I can get help or where to go to fine it so I can send the right information. I try to take notes but I stink at that. I am just going to have to go slow and make sure I pay attention to each question and know what and how to do it {SMILE} thanks for your help. Sharon sham1313

KEEP Malwarebytes AND Superantispyware - but....... you have to update them every day as there are new updates DAILY.
Yes, download and install SpywareBlaster - it does NOT run in the background - as you installed it - do NOT forget to click on enable all protection ! then you can "forget" about it till there is a new update.
Then you have "enough" for the moment to scan for malware.
Scan with an updated Malwarebytes regularly and the same with Superantispyware as they find different "malware things".
You mean the Windows Media Player?
Take it easy, we ALL started as "greenies"

for the a avast scanner I am still having trouble fine the real register page. I do fill like a newbie and in some ways I am but I have done computer sense 1995. there was a time I was real sick and did no computer from 2004 till kind of the end of last year and things sure have changed OK I will download it. there sure is a lot I have to update every day. like the malware, the soperantispyware the other that on in like that. then you need all the player and adobe this and that. when you on dial up that about all you do. I like to do a few things on the computer I like instead of upgrading, updating and downloading (smile) thanks for understanding. Sharon

I need to look at every you and carol and see if any one els has help me. look threw every thing because I think one of you answer one of the question when I was told that there was a log till the scan is taken and I know that but after the scan kine in the malware you can pull it from the 1st scan on the log till the last. but on avast i can get the one right after it scan but if you close it and open it I can not fine the last one or any that was done before. the other one was I click on menu and click on for it to do a thorough scan on the local disk and then click start click for folders and then click it to start or just tap enter. I am not sure if I am doig 2 scan at the same time or just more of a thorough scan. I know at least most of the time now to get the right forum in windows live (here) just have to learn the others. thanks till next time Sharon
