Spybot asks me about this too!

by DiJac - 2/26/08 6:50 AM In reply to: What are these Viruses? by Terry Browne

When I run my "Spybot",
In the Results, I'm am asked if I want to Deny or allow,
similar (Non Harmful)items.
I get confused with these items,
because if I delete them,
the next Fire-up on my PC seems to be Reloading what I just deleted?
I'm thinking of a different Program to use because this reason.
So whom ever answers this dilemma,
KEEP ME IN MIND TOO..........Please!

I have a Dell Dimension, 8300 Series,
on Dail-up with AOL 9.0 V.R.
Windows XP, SP 2; Ad-Aware, 2007; Spybot, Search & Destroy;
AVG (New Free Version).
I Updated every time, I go on line & Scan at the end of each session!
ttfn....... Jack

Spybot S&D - where are the files located?

by Marianna Schmudlach Moderator - 2/26/08 8:59 AM In reply to: Spybot asks me about this too! by DiJac

IF they are in the Temp. folder:

Download: CCleaner
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4191.html
http://www.ccleaner.com/
Once installed, disable your protection programs that could prevent registry changes, run CCleaner click the Windows tab

Select the following:
Internet Explorer:
Temp Internet
History
Recently Typed URLs
Delete Index.dat files

System:
Empty Recycle Bin
Temporary Files
Memory Dumps
Chkdsk File Fragments
Old Prefetch Data

Next: click Options click the Settings tab
Uncheck: "Only delete files older than 48 hrs.", click Ok
Then click Run Cleaner (bottom right) then Exit (reboot)

UNcheck all other defaults.
