has anybody ever noticed the length of some of the threads?
amazing that 300-500 posts never result in an ill word to/about anybody!

there are some on the web that are quite contentious. So which ones do you mean?
the forums aren't contentious, but some there are
are about a religious or political topic? Me thinks none.
It has a general topics forum, but it is open to subscribers to the ISP only, even for "read only".
The rules say those that violate their TOS lose their subscription to the ISP. It is moderated.
There are plenty of subscribers who can discuss such topics, so it's an enjoyable experience to join in good conversation. Some really bright folks in there!!!
There used to be an MSN forum that discussed books, science, and other meaningful topics. It was merged into the old ZDNet community. There are a few of those people still around.

telling another Cnet member to "Shut up!" or calling him a troll, i.e. as in "but you never left" is not 'unwarranted deletions' IMO....
