Hello.
I have an iMac 2.4 GHz Intel OS X 10.5.6
Whenever I open Firefox it quits and sends me a crash report. I have tried to uninstall Firefox and reload it a bunch of times. It still asks if I want to restart my old session even after getting rid of the files in application support.
Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution?
Thank you for your help.
Firefox works fine for me. To answer your question though, we'd have to know the error. Do you have the log, or a link to it online?
This is the error text:

which are found in Users/yourname/Library/Preferences
That should solve the restart old session problem

org.mozilla.crashreporter.plist
This is the only file I find in that area.
I have the same problem with firefix & mac
my solution was - i installed another version of firefox and it works fine..
Thank you.
That did it. I am surprised this is not a more common problem people are having with version 3.
There must be some program I have that does not get along with the new version???
Yes, I too have had the same problem with Firefox 3.; it "bombs" on the OPEN. I will try going to go back to version 2.3 and see if it
works...cause version3.xx does not work at all.
I send a report everytime it crashes. I see no results the next time open firefox, it just crashes, crashes, crashes. But the next time i open a program and listening to a mp3 talk it doesn't crashes only the first time. On the next mp3 talk I have to do the same over again. Many times I wanted to delete firefox but I'm hanging in here.
to Apple has the same end user effect as sending reports to Microsoft.
They are not designed to help you, nor will you receive an answer. While someone "may" collate the reports and possibly note that there is a trend, it will not help you at your next launch.
Rather than "hang in" why not follow the advice of the other posters and downgrade to version 2.x, which does not crash.
Either that, or use Safari

Firefox has its own tool that launches after a crash to send a report back directly to Mozilla, so it does go right to the devs and not to Apple.
the immediate problem.
It still goes to the Mozilla equivalent of the Apple/Microsoft reporting desk.
