Even though I have disabled hibernation in power options, my computer still enters hibernation. Why? Desktop with Windows XP SP2, MicroFlex 66B.
..and just making sure, after opening the ScreenSaver tab, then the "Power" button, then click on the "Hibernate" tab, you UNCHECKED the box that enables Hibernations? Yes? If you didn't UNCHECK that box, then hibernation is still an option.
Disabling the APM in the BIOS would do it but it would also prevent other Power Management programs such as Standby, etc.
Have you seen this article?

Hope this helps.

Grif,
Thanks for the input. I have disabled hibernation. Messing with the Bios scare me a bit. Perhaps you could elaborate on the "power schemes" found under "power option properties" in the control panel. My choice here may have caused the problem.
