I have an uncle who wants to learning, and has asked me for information. He is retired, and is at home using the computer and the Windows operating system (Windows XP Pro)... He has no programming experience and wants to acquire two or three languages [working knowledge to write simple working program, but not to "developer" stage. He wants to know:
1. Which programing languages [excluding the 'BASIC' versions, except "Visual BASIC" ] best suite his purpose ?
2. Suggestion of websites for tutorials, and books.
3. He is asking about Visual Basic, C++ ....
Can anyone help ? Thanks.
christy
