After i installed windows 7-64Bit on my computer, when i sutdown, i must unplug the computer or switch off the power supply to restart. I didn't have that problem with Vista. The rest is working fine. I also added a new computer screeen a Flatron W2343t but i doubt this might be the problem and i got rid of my old screen to test it.
My motherboard is a Elitegroup 761gx-m754 with AMD athlon 64. I have a green light on my computer to say that have power and the light turns off also when i shutdown. Please any help, i hate to crawl under my desk to start my computer.

It does not matter it worked in Vista. What you need is for them to tell you if they have tested it on 7.

I was checking the wrong motherboard book, i checked my motherboard it is a ASUS A8N-E Rev. 2. I installed the A8NE1013.ROM that is the latest that i saw on the ASUS site and it still hangs. I have to switch off the power supply in the back to restart the computer.
Did you ask the machine's maker and the board maker if they have completed Windows 7 testing? Not all machines will be perfect and (again) the fact it ran Vista only means it ran Vista.
In closing there are other things to explore. Many install Windows and forget the motherboard or other drivers. If you want the forum to check your work, tell how you install Windows and what drivers (such as the motherboard chipset drivers) you added after Windows was installed.

Finally it was a coeincindence,it was a power supply problem. It started just when i installed win 7. I changed the power supply and its working fine, at the store they have a tool to check the power supply and confirmed my diagnostic. They said the 5V connection was not working. Thanks anyway.
