email inbox error

by Billydj - 11/7/09 5:39 AM

Have new computer with Windows 7. Love it but some problems.
Receive error in email;
Folder: Inbox synchronizing reader's reported err (0x80070057) An unknown error has occoured. please restart the program.
can not repair this error.
also cannot send invoice's by email. Also get error message.
I believe if I can get the first problem repaired, then the second will repair itself.

- That's a Canadian ISP (Internet Service Provider), right?
- So your email-address is something like billydj (at) xplornet.com. Right?
- As Windows 7 doesn't come with a mail, and given the error message, my guess is that you downloaded an email-program like Thunderbird or Incredimail or Windows Live Mail. Which one?

That such an error message appears on your new PC seems to indicate that you didn't enter the account details fully right. So check with xplorer (they might have a FAQ or another help page on their site or a customer service dept) what exactly to enter where in your email program. Then most likely the problem will be solved.

email problem

I have been in touch with Xplornet.com and it is not on their end.
It seems to be a problem with windows7 or Windows live.

Here's a link

Found it from a google search for 0x80070057. There were a lot of others also, of course, so this is just to give you an idea.

In one of those particular cases it was an interaction between (Norton) security software and dialup software, it seems. See the details in http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic22927.html

Probably it's something else with you. Hope you find it!
