You might want to download xp powertoys from microsoft. You can enable autolog in using that to get rid of the log on window.

First, in order to do so, you can only have one user on the computer.. If there are is more than one user on the machine, you'll need the log on window and even the "Welcome Screen" option so the other users could logons..
So...if you've only got one user, you can change your password so it's blank.. (Obviously, if you want it to autologon, you won't be needing a password.) Open the Control Panel, then double click on the "User Accounts" icon.. When that opens, if you need to blank your logon password, then click on your user icon and eliminate the password.. After that, while still in the "User Accounts" section, click on the "Change the way users log on or off" link, then select the "Use Welcome Screen" option. Click on Apply, OK, etc. to exit that section..
Once that's done, click on Start-Run, type CONTROL userpasswords2 , then click on OK.. When the "user accounts" window loads, in the "user" tab, UNCHECK the box that says: "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer", then click on Apply, OK, etc.
Hope this helps.
