Be sure to let us know not only the results but what the output of the program was.

Try this

Just open your Windows Explorer (press Windows+E, also you may call it your "My Computer" I don't, but you may :) ).

Do a right-click over each of the aforementioned CD or DVD drives, and select [Properties].

In that properties Window see if you have other than "Take no action" selected.

I would recommend that you set the option to "Prompt me each time to choose an action"

See if that works.

No Autoplay

Hello b.s-2,

Just a little more to the last thread. Open My Computer. Right click the drive you wish to use. click on properties. Click on Autoplay, Click on the arrow to the right of the small window. Choose what you want to do. Click on the action you want to take. Click on prompt me to each time to take an action, then click ok.

Hope this helps.

command line

when you last opened the autodrive--a window popped up and asked you what you want to do with the drive. You obviously hit the box and checked "do this every time"---even moving your cursor over it it checks the box. You now have to go to the system files to reverse
your previous input or just use system restore to change it back that way.

P.S. Try using the spellchecker program once in a while as you can't spell worth a damn.

Lighten up! We live in an imperfect world where spelling is concerned!

I know it's irritating, but that's life!

There is little reason to have poor spelling

by ChuckT - 3/1/08 2:43 PM In reply to: HARSH WORDS! by geronimo1881

What I use, to assist me in all my responses, is that I run the free program TinySpell which helps me to keep my spelling, at least, close to something that looks basically correct.

I am not the world's best speller, far from it, and it does bother me, too, about some of the really poor habits that some people have in typing out their responses. (There are three words "to" "too" and "two" all separate meanings. There are differences between "their" and "they're" and "there". The punctuation for "is not" isn't "is'nt". Oh, and there are general expectations that a sentence ends with a (. ) "period and a space". No matter that some people think that the space is not needed, since the period already ends 'the thought'. There are times where a period is used for abbreviations and without the space at the end of a sentence it gets confusing to read otherwise. (Flame off.)

But if I were to comment on every mis-spelling and bad punctuation used on these boards I would have no time for the things I like to do. So, I just 'grin and bear it'. I do find humor, though, when somebody else drags out the 'run spell-check' flag.
