Another list of <Alt+Numeric> codes can be found at <http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/codes/vowels.html>. This one is for umlauted vowels and various symbols. I've used it a lot for some foreign words and phrases.
comes with windows (all versions)

Your post got me looking a®ound and I've found items I didn't know existed in Windows®. Is there a way to save the keystrokes list for easy reference?
Ga®y
How do you generate the list of keystrokes to save them in Wordpad or Word so you can print them?
...print them from a website. For example, click on the link below and print out the information provided:

Hope this helps.

These are all the useful shortcuts in windows

Go to one of the .jpg pictures, click on it once to highlight it, then while holding down the Shift key, right click on the file, then choose "Open With" from the menu. When the "Open With" box opens, make sure there is a check mark in the "Always Use this program to open this type of file", then scroll down to "Iexplore" and double click it. (Other programs may be set for this such as the "Windows Picture and FAX Viewer" on many Windows XP machines. It's your choice.) This will set up the default viewer for opening jpg files. You can always set up another type for those files if you want. Do this same procedure with .gif files, Iexplore may be their default opener.
Do the same for .bmp files, except when you open the "Open With" box, scroll down to "MSPaint" and double click that. That is the default for bmp files.
Hope this helps.

When I go to a .jpg picture and do the things you suggest, I don't get an "Open With" option, just "Open", "Print", "Save as","Save all" or "Quick view". I'm on Windows 98 SE and KNOW I can change the viewers cos I've been there before but can't remember how I got there! In fact I remember changing the default FROM "Iexplore" to something else cos some images wouldn't open (usually sent as attachments with/in emails)and I got a message thus: C:/windows/local.bmp was not found. Pls could you let me know which defaults to use for different images and how to apply, thanx.
You appear to be doing it incorrectly...On Windows 98....Go to a .jpg file. Click on it ONCE to highlight it. Now, while holding down the "Shift" key, RIGHT click on the file, then choose "Open With" from the menu. ("Open With" will probably be fourth or fifth on the list) When the "Open With" box opens, make sure there is a check mark in the "Always Use this program to open this type of file", then scroll down to "Iexplore" and double click it. Iexplore works for .jpg and .gif files. MSpaint works for .bmp files.
If that doesn't work for you,(it should) try using a free "picture viewer" program called "Irfanview" from the link below. After loading it, you can set up Irfanview as the default viewer from within the program for almost all picture types:

Hope this helps.

Click on "Start/Programs/Accessories/Character Map". (Some machines have it in "Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map".) See if you have Character Map installed on your machine.
In character map in top left select "system" in the drop down box. In the fifth row down you'll see "cents" symbol. Click on it once to highlight it.You'll also see in the lower right of Character Map it will say "Keystroke: Alt+0162" Instead of opening Character Map,, as long as you know the keystroke you can left click in your text, and use the appropriate keystroke to enter the symbol. Alt+0169 is copyright. Al+0162 is ¢ (Hold down the Alt key while entering the numeric portion in the numeric keypad. The symbol appears after your release the Alt key.)
Hope this helps.

Backup your “Favorites” to a separate file and print them like this:
While in Internet Explorer, click on "File" in the upper left, choose "Import and Export" from the list, click on "next". When the next window loads, click on the "Export Favorites" selection, then click on "next". At the next window, make sure the top "Favorites" folder is highlighted, then click on "next". At the next window, make sure to place a dot/tick in the “Export to a File or Address” box, and verify which location you are sending the saved file to, then click “next”. (The default is usually the "My Documents" folder) Proceed through all the instructions to export the "bookmark.htm" file to your designated location. The saved HTML document will have the actual hyperlinks and can be used just like the favorites listing in Internet Explorer. It’s a good idea to save the file and "Import" it if a crash were to occur, or just use it as-is.
If you then want to print out the file, with the included links do this:
Navigate to the "Bookmark.htm" file that you have previously saved, then double click it to open it in Internet Explorer. Next, click on "File" in the upper left, and choose "Print" from the menu. When the "Print" box loads, make sure to place a CHECK mark in the "Print Table Of Links" box which is in the lower right corner. Click on OK and the entire list will be printed up.
Hope this helps.

Well, it worked out perfect, but is there a way to get the complete URL's (on the same list) which are hidden behind the description? The reason is that I like to re-arrange my bookmarks and donot like to make a big search for all the hidden URL's! Is there for instance a file on every computer which contains these URL's? I do hope you know more!!
...follow my instructions completely? When you're ready to print the "Bookmark.htm" document, and after the "Print" dialogue widows pops up, make sure to place a CHECK mark in the "Table Of Links" box. (Some printers may have this box on a separate "Options" tab or button.) An extra page or two will be printed which shows the actual URL that is associated with each site.
Isn't that what you're asking for.
Hope this helps.
